Slovenia's Luka Koper First-Quarter Profit Drops 40%

Luka Koper d.d., Slovenia’s only port operator, said profit in the first three months dropped 40 percent on increased energy and labor costs.

Net income declined to 2.6 million euros ($3.3 million) from 4.2 million euros in the same period a year earlier, the Koper, Slovenia-based company said in a regulatory statement today. Revenue advanced 3 percent to 36.4 million euros, it said.

Luka Koper (LKPG) handled 4.4 million tons of cargo in the period, an 8 percent increase from a year ago.
