The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close in Santiago.
The Ipsa index rose 0.8 percent to 4,254.61. The MSCI Chile index (MXCL) advanced 0.2 percent to 2,272.35.
AES Gener SA (GENER) increased 1.9 percent to 288 pesos, the most since April 2. Chile’s second-largest power producer reported a 2.8 percent increase in first-quarter revenue to $597 million from $581 million a year earlier, according to a statement sent yesterday to Chile’s securities regulator.
Azul Azul SA (AZUL) retreated a record 20 percent to 2,190 pesos. The owner of the Universidad de Chile soccer team jumped 48 percent in the six previous trading days before beating Paraguay’s Libertad yesterday and advancing to the semifinals of the regional Libertadores cup.
Empresas AquaChile SA (AQUACHIL) fell 1.6 percent to 340 pesos, its lowest price since October. The country’s biggest salmon exporter reported first-quarter net income fell 82 percent to $1.52 million from $8.53 million a year earlier.
Empresas Hites SA (HITES) rose 2.1 percent to 342.03 pesos, the most in a month. The department store operator said yesterday in a statement to regulators that first-quarter profit more than tripled to 1.92 billion pesos ($3.76 million) from a year earlier.
