Bank of China Ltd., the Asian country’s third-biggest lender by assets, plans to open a branch in Canada.

The Beijing-based company will do business in Canada under the name Bank of China, Toronto Branch and its principal office will be in Markham, Ontario, according to a notice in the Canada Gazette, the government’s official regulatory publication.
