Russia Equity Movers: Bank Vozrozhdenie, Federal Grid, Rosneft

The 30-stock Micex Index (INDEXCF) added 0.2 percent to 1,301.09 by the close in Moscow. The dollar- denominated RTS Index rose 0.3 percent to 1,321.87.

The following are among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parenthesis.

Federal Grid Co. (FEES RX) dropped 1.8 percent to 22.55 kopeks, the second-biggest decliner on the Micex. Russia’s high- voltage power transmission monopoly confirmed the government will raise prices the state company charges less than forecast.

OAO Gazprom Neft (SIBN RX) added 0.1 percent to 132.14 rubles after rising as much as 1.6 percent earlier. The oil arm of Russia’s biggest company said net income rose 21 percent in the first quarter, beating analyst estimates.

OAO Rosneft (ROSN RX) rose 1.7 percent to 198.34 rubles, the most in almost two weeks. Russia’s biggest oil producer gained after Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said he ordered Rosneft’s board to appoint Igor Sechin chief executive officer.

OAO Transneft (TRNFP RX) rose 3.5 percent to 43,701 rubles, the largest gain since April 13. Russia’s oil pipeline operator gained after Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said yesterday Russia’s government will proceed with its planned state asset sales.

Bank Vozrozhdenie (VZRZ RX) gained 3.3 percent to 478.90 rubles, increasing the most since April 11. The Russian lender advanced after posting a 66 percent jump in first-quarter profit.
