The New York Rangers defeated the New Jersey Devils 3-0 to take a two-games-to-one lead in the National Hockey League’s Eastern Conference finals.
Dan Girardi and Chris Kreider scored early in the third period and Ryan Callahan added an empty-net goal to give the Rangers the victory at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
New York’s Henrik Lunvqvist stopped 36 shots for his NHL- best third shutout of the playoffs. Martin Brodeur made 19 saves for New Jersey, which hosts Game 4 in the best-of-seven series in two days.
