The U.K.’s benchmark stock index, the FTSE 100, fell 0.1 percent at 1:34 in London, erasing an earlier decline of as much as 1.5 percent.
The index of 102 stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange fell 4.2 to 5,433.32. Among the stocks in the index, 57 rose, 42 fell and 2 were unchanged.
Declines in the FTSE 100 were led by HSBC Holdings Plc and Vodafone Group Plc (VOD), while gains were paced by Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA), BP Plc (BP/) and Barclays Plc. (BARC)
