David Rath, a Czech regional governor and a former health minister who was arrested yesterday by police on bribery allegations, was carrying about $350,000 in a shoe box, Lidovky.cz reported without saying where it got the information.
Police, who also arrested seven other people for alleged bribery, searched Rath’s home and office, the newspaper.
Rath is a member of the country’s largest opposition party, Social Democrats.
