Cia. Mexicana de Aviacion, the airline that filed for bankruptcy protection in 2010, said Med Atlantica is the new owner of its holding company’s shares, in an e-mailed statement today.
Mexicana was Mexico’s largest airline by passengers when it grounded flights in August 2010 and filed for bankruptcy protection days later with total liabilities of 17 billion pesos ($1.3 billion).
