The Spanish government wants Belen Romana Garcia to head of the European Stability Mechanism when it replaces the European Stability Facility in July, Financial Times Deutschland said, citing unidentified people.
Euro-region officials will discuss the appointment of the Spanish economist on May 14, the German newspaper reported today. Euro-area finance ministers are skeptical of Spain’s proposition, according to the FTD.
