CTC Media Inc. (CTCM:US)’s average daily share of viewers 18 years and older for its television channel fell to 5.5 percent in the week to April 29, pushing it one level down to the sixth-most watched in Russia, according to TNS-Global.
Viewer share for CTC TV, the Nasdaq-listed Russian media company’s biggest source of revenue, dropped from 5.9 percent in the previous week, data researcher TNS-Global said by e-mail today. CTC’s average daily audience among viewers 4 years old and over declined to 6.5 percent in the week to April 29 from 6.8 percent in the week to April 22, the data show.
CTC lost its fifth-place ranking among viewers 18 years and older it had regained in the week to April 22. Russia’s NTV Television, the government-controlled Pervyi Kanal, Rossiya-1, TNT and Piatyi Kanal were all ahead of CTC among viewers 18 and over. CTC retained its fifth place among viewers 4 years old and over, TNS-Global said.
NTV maintained its top ranking in both categories, with its share of viewers 18 years and over rising to 16.1 percent in the week to April 29, compared with a 14.8 percent share in the previous week, according to TNS-Global. Pervyi’s share of viewers 18 years and over was unchanged at 14.7 percent.
Rossiya-1’s share of the average daily audience 18 years and over was 12.5 percent in the week, compared with 13.1 percent in the previous week, TNS-Global said. TNT had an 8.1 percent share, up from 7.6 percent. Piatyi Kanal’s share was at 5.6 percent.
CTC Media also owns some smaller television channels in Russia, including Domashniy and Peretz.
