Seven miners died and seven remain trapped after a coal-mine flood in northeastern China’s Heilongjiang province yesterday, the official Xinhua News Agency reported, citing unidentified rescuers.
A total of 14 miners escaped or were rescued, Xinhua said. A total of 28 workers were underground when the accident happened at 7 a.m. local time at the Junyuan coal pit in Hegang city, Xinhua said. The mine was licensed, it said.
