Chilean Stock Movers: Cap, Lan and Multiexport Foods Were Active

The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close in Santiago.

The Ipsa index retreated 0.7 percent to 4,554.39. The MSCI Chile index fell 0.6 percent to 2,589.74.

Cap SA (CAP) dropped 0.5 percent to 20,117 pesos. Chile’s largest steelmaker and iron-ore miner retreated along with industrial metal prices after manufacturing in the euro area fell and unemployment reached a 15-year high, fanning concern that the region’s economic slump may deepen.

Lan Airlines SA (LAN) fell 0.9 percent to 13,586 pesos. Latin America’s biggest airline by market value fell for a second day after it had its recommendation lowered to neutral from buy at Bank of America Corp.

Multiexport Foods SA (MULTIFOO) , Chile’s second-largest salmon exporter by market value, advanced 0.9 percent to 131.95 pesos. Norwegian salmon export prices rose 1.4 percent in the week to May 2, according to Statistics Norway.
