Google Share of U.S. Smartphone Market Tops 50%, ComScore Says

Google Inc. (GOOG:US)’s Android operating system powered 51 percent of U.S. smartphones in the three months ended March 31, ComScore Inc. (SCOR:US) said today.

Apple Inc. (AAPL:US) ranked second, with 31 percent, followed by Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM), with 12 percent. Google’s share in the previous three-month period was 47 percent, ComScore said.
