Ukraine may introduce protective measures against car imports, Vedomosti reported.
The Eurasian Economic Commission is concerned about Ukraine’s plans, Andrei Slepnyov, a former Russian Deputy Economy Minister and now the commission’s trade chief, said in a letter to Ukrainian Economy Minister Petro Poroshenko, Vedomosti reported, citing a copy of the letter. Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan created a common economic space overseen by the commission.
Ukraine is one of the biggest export markets for OAO AvtoVAZ, Russia’s biggest carmaker, the newspaper said.
