The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close of trading.
The IPC index rose 0.3 percent to 39,324.14.
Alpek SAB (ALPEKA) , Mexico’s biggest petrochemical company, climbed 2.9 percent to 28.73 pesos. The shares debuted on the exchange yesterday after being sold for 27.50 pesos each, the bottom end of the target range, in an initial public offering on April 25. They’re up 4.5 percent since the listing.
Gruma SAB (GRUMAB) , the world’s largest tortilla maker, tumbled 3.3 percent to 34.66 pesos, extending its two-day loss to 11 percent. Gruma’s net income fell 98 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier to 83.9 million pesos ($6.5 million), according to its April 25 earnings report.
Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos SAB (URBI*) , Mexico’s third- largest homebuilder by sales, fell 1.9 percent to 13.65 pesos. Urbi may exit MSCI Inc. (MSCI)’s Emerging Markets Latin America index in a rebalancing set to be announced May 15, Banco Santander SA (SAN) said today in an e-mailed research note.
