South Korean Equity Movers: LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in South Korea trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 9:05 a.m. in Seoul.

The Kospi Index (KOSPI) rose 1.3 percent to 2,011.00.

LG Electronics Inc. (066570) (066570 KS) gained 2.2 percent to 78,400 won. The U.S. International Trade Commission said pricing and subsidies for refrigerators made by LG and Samsung Electronics Co. (005930) didn’t harm the U.S. industry.

Samsung Electronics Co. (005930 KS) advanced 2.2 percent to 1,277,000 won. The company and Apple Inc. were ordered to take part in a magistrate judge settlement conference in their patent dispute in federal court in San Jose, California.
