April 17, 2012

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC) will work on a “major shutdown” of a unit at BP Plc (BP/)’s Rotterdam refinery, its biggest plant in Europe.

Jacobs will provide services for the project on a fluid catalytic cracker unit, Jacobs said in a statement today, without specifying the date or duration of the maintenance. FCC units are used in gasoline production.

BP’s Rotterdam refinery is Europe’s second-largest, with a capacity of 400,000 barrels a day. The FCC can process 62,000 barrels a day, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
