Polish Stocks: Globe Trade Centre, New World Active in Warsaw

Poland’s WIG20 Index (WIG20) climbed 0.1 percent to 2,251.37 in Warsaw.

The following were among the most active stocks on the Warsaw Stock Exchange today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Globe Trade Centre SA (GTC) jumped 7.9 percent to 7.23 zloty, rising the most since Feb. 6, as shareholders of Poland’s second-biggest property developer by market value backed a management proposal to sell as many as 100 million shares to help pay back its debt.

New World Resources Plc (NWR) fell 1.1 percent to 20.97 zloty. The biggest Czech coking-coal producer said the average agreed price of coking coal for the second quarter fell 8 percent over the previous quarter to 130 euros a ton, according to an e-mailed statement from the company. NWR said it expects to meet its 2012 sales and production targets.
