Australia’s bowlers took three quick wickets late on day two of the second cricket Test against West Indies after scoring 311 in its first innings.
Mike Hussey top scored for Australia with 73, sharing an 89-run stand for the seventh wicket with James Pattinson that was twice interrupted by rain in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Kemar Roach took three second-day wickets to record figures of 5-105.
Australia fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus, spinner Michael Beer and Pattinson then removed the West Indies’ top three batsmen leg-before-wicket as the home team stuttered to 49-3 at stumps to trail by 262 runs.
Australia won the first Test in Barbados by three wickets. The final match in Dominica starts April 23.
