Vietnam Stock Movers: Cotec Construction, Phu Nhuan Jewelry

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 2:15 p.m. local-time close in Ho Chi Minh City. The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose 0.7 percent to 450.73.

Cotec Construction Joint-Stock Co. (CTD) , a builder of roads and housing, climbed 2.4 percent to 38,500 dong, the biggest advance since March 19. The company will pay a dividend of 2,000 dong a share on May 16, it said in a statement on the exchange’s website.

Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint-Stock Co. (PNJ) , Vietnam’s only listed jewelry manufacturer, gained 2.1 percent to 39,800 dong, the highest close since March 15. Spot gold advanced as much as 0.8 percent to $1,648.80 an ounce and traded at $1,643.63 at 2:05 p.m. Singapore time.
