Chilean Stocks: Cap, Enersis and Lan Airlines Are Active

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 11:24 a.m. in Santiago.

The Ipsa index fell 0.8 percent to 4,612.50. The MSCI Chile index (MXCL) retreated 1.2 percent to 2,628.73.

Cap SA (CAP) retreated 1.8 percent to 20,670 pesos, its biggest fall in five weeks. Chile’s largest steel producer and iron miner fell in line with base metal prices.

Enersis SA (ENERSIS) fell 0.6 percent to 199.5 pesos, snapping a four-day winning streak. The Latin American unit of Spain’s Endesa SA had its recommendation cut to hold from buy at Banco Santander SA.

Lan Airlines SA (LAN) lost 1.1 percent to 13,900 pesos, and earlier fell to 13,850 pesos, its lowest price in more than two weeks. Chile’s Supreme Court rejected April 5 an appeal lodged by Lan against the conditions imposed by the country’s antitrust regulator to approve its takeover of Brazil’s Tam SA.
