Seoul’s Gimpo Airport Cancels 34 Flights Due to Strong Winds

Gimpo airport in Seoul canceled 34 domestic flights today as strong winds lashed South Korea, according to its website.

There were no flight cancellations at Incheon airfield, the nation’s main international gateway, the larger airport’s operator said on its website.

The Korea Meteorological Administration issued a wind warning for most of South Korea and the resort island of Jeju, which lies off the southern tip of the peninsula.

In neighboring Japan, airlines canceled hundreds of flights, train services faced disruptions and the weather agency advised people in the Tokyo area to head home early today as typhoon- strength winds headed for the capital.
