Czech Stocks: Central European Media, New World Resources Move

The Czech Republic’s PX (PX) stock index fell for a second day, sliding 0.3 percent to 965.2 at its close in Prague.

The following were among the most active equities on the Prague Stock Exchange today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CETV) climbed 5.2 percent, the most in seven weeks, to 146.5 koruna. Bank of America Corp. analysts said in a report yesterday that Time Warner Inc. may increase its stake in the broadcaster this year.

New World Resources Plc (NWR) , the biggest Czech coking- coal producer, added 1.4 percent to 133 koruna, making it the third-best performer in the PX benchmark today. The company’s OKD AS unit called off a strike warning after an agreement on wages was reached, CTK public newswire reported late yesterday.
