World coffee exports rose 7.5 percent to 9.32 million bags in February, from 8.67 million bags a year earlier, the International Coffee Organization said today in a report on its website
In the first five months of the season started Oct. 1, shipments dropped 1.8 percent to 41.5 million bags from 42.3 million a year earlier, the ICO data show.
In the 12 months through February, total exports advanced 4.3 percent to 103.71 million bags from 99.42 million a year earlier, figures from the London-based group show. Shipments of arabica coffee dropped 2.8 percent to 65.1 million bags from 67 million, while robusta beans climbed 19 percent to 38.6 million bags from a 32.4 million a year earlier, according to the data.
A bag weighs 60 kilograms, or 132 pounds.
