The following companies are having unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 9:30 a.m. Mexico City time.
The IPC index rose 0.9 percent to 39,465.49.
Compartamos SAB (COMPARC*) (COMPARC* MM), the holding company that controls low-income lender Banco Compartamos SA, climbed 1.3 percent to 14.29 pesos. Compartamos said the company’s finance committee will propose a dividend of 0.30 pesos per share on May 23 at a shareholders assembly. The company will also propose creating a 700 million-peso ($54.6 million) share repurchase fund during the assembly on April 23, according to a filing to the Mexican stock exchange.
Genomma Lab Internacional SAB (LABB) , the Mexican producer of over-the-counter drugs, climbed 1 percent to 23.25 pesos. Genomma said shareholders approved its unsolicited bid to buy Prestige Brands Holdings Inc. for $16.60 a share.
Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB (GAPB MM), the operator of airports in the Pacific and central regions of Mexico, tumbled 1.7 percent to 47.80 pesos. Grupo Mexico SAB (GMEXICOB) , the country’s largest mining company, said in a statement yesterday that it withdrew a request for authorization to buy Aeroportuario del Pacifico. Grupo Mexico rose 0.3 percent to 40.23 pesos today.
Grupo Pochteca SAB (POCHTECB) , the chemical maker formerly known as Dermet de Mexico, gained for the third day, adding 4.1 percent to 2.27 pesos and extending its advance this week to 14 percent, the most since Nov. 11. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were 41 million pesos ($3.2 million) in the first quarter, according to preliminary results sent March 27 to the Mexican stock exchange.
