SolFocus to Build 450-Megawatt Solar Project in Northern Mexico

SolFocus Inc., a maker of solar energy systems that concentrate sunlight, will build a 450- megawatt project in Mexico’s Baja California.

The plant, near the city of Tecate, will be owned by U.S. developer Synergy Technologies LLC and Mexican real estate company Grupo Musa, San Jose, California-based SolFocus said today in a statement.

SolFocus will have the first 50 megawatts of the project generating electricity next year, according to the statement.
