CNA’s Mense Says Workers’ Compensation Has Been a ‘Problem Line’

CNA Financial Corp. (CNA:US), the commercial insurer majority owned by Loews Corp., is scaling back offerings of workers’ compensation policies after the business underperformed other types of coverage sold by the company.

Workers’ compensation has been a “problem line,” Chief Financial Officer Craig Mense said today at a presentation by the Chicago-based insurer.
