Anglo American, ArcelorMittal; European Equity Preview

The following companies’ shares may have unusual moves in European (SXXP) trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Index (SXXP) fell 1.1 percent to 264.10. The Stoxx 50 Index (SX5P) decreased 1 percent to 2,468.52. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index (SX5E), a benchmark measure for nations using the euro, dropped 1.1 percent to 2,496.68.

Anglo American Plc (AAL) : The mining company was cut to sell from hold at Societe Generale SA. The shares dropped 2.7 percent to 2,347 pence.

ArcelorMittal (MT) : The world’s largest steelmaker was lowered to hold from buy by Societe Generale SA. The shares fell 3.4 percent to 14.18 euros.

Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBA) (DBA GY): The venture capital company said that Chief Executive Officer Wilken von Hodenberg will step down at the end of the firm’s annual shareholder meeting in 2013. The shares increased 2.7 percent to 18.38 euros.

Svenska Handelsbanken AB (SHBA) : Sweden’s second-largest bank by market value sold $1.25 billion of five-year bonds, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The shares dropped 0.9 percent to 223 Swedish krona.
