U.K. to Start Carbon-Capture Funding Contest During Recess

The U.K. government will start a 1 billion-pound ($1.6 billion) program to fund carbon capture and storage projects during the parliamentary recess.

The competition for the technology that gathers emissions for permanent storage underground will open during the break, which starts today and ends April 16, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Ed Davey wrote in a statement on his department’s website.
