EasyJet to Test Reserved Seating on Selected Flights Next Month

March 27, 2012

EasyJet Plc (EZJ), Europe’s second-biggest discount airline, plans to offer passengers allocated seating starting next month in a trial that takes the carrier further away from its no-frills heritage.

The company is joining larger competitor Ryanair Holdings Plc in giving passengers the option to reserve their seats before boarding. EasyJet will start the test on five routes, primarily from its main base at London’s Luton airport, and said it will expand the service as long as passenger satisfaction rises and there’s no effect on operating efficiency.
