Commerce Sets Subsidy Duties for Steel Pipe From India, Vietnam

The U.S. Commerce Department will impose preliminary duties of as much as 286 percent on certain steel pipe from India, and as much as 8.06 percent on the imports from Vietnam, acting on a petition from companies including U.S. Steel Corp.

The Commerce Department announced its decision today in an

e-mailed statement. The imports were valued at almost $115 million in 2011.

The department is scheduled to make a final determination in August.
