Gold holdings in the SPDR Gold Trust, the biggest exchange-traded fund backed by bullion, increased 6.04 metric tons to 1,288.74 metric tons as of March 26, according to figures on the company’s website.
Gold futures for April delivery rose $8.30, or 0.5 percent, to $1,655.30 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
