Enxco Inc., the U.S. renewable- energy unit of EDF SA (EDF), bought a Texas wind farm from Element Power U.S. LLC.
Enxco expects to begin construction on the 150-megawatt Bobcat Bluff Wind Project in the second quarter and it should begin producing electricity in December, the San Diego-based company said today in a statement. It didn’t give a price.
Enxco doesn’t have a power-purchase agreement and plans to sell the output on the spot market. The project is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of Wichita Falls, Texas, and will use General Electric Co. (GE) turbines.
