Brazil’s Estaleiro Atlantico Sul SA shipyard is seeking to renegotiate the deadline to deliver 22 oil tankers to Petrobras Transporte SA, a unit of state- controlled oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PETR4) known as Transpetro, Valor Economico reported, citing unidentified people close to the situation.
The first tanker in a group of ten Suezmax ships ordered for 2.75 billion reais ($1.5 billion) is delayed by a year and a half and may be delivered by the end of April, according to the Sao Paulo-based newspaper.
EAS originally agreed to deliver all 22 ships by 2016, according to Valor.
