Santander Totta Said to Offer to Buy Back Asset-Backed Bonds

Banco Santander Totta SA, the Portuguese unit of Spain’s largest lender, is offering to buy back three asset-backed securities, according to three people with knowledge of the offer.

The tender refers to three senior portions of mortgage- backing securities issued through HipoTotta N.1 Plc., HipoTotta N.4 Plc., and HipoTotta N. 5 Plc., said the people, who declined to be identified before the deal is completed. The offering expires on March 23, the people said.

Santander is managing the tender with Deutsche Bank AG, Natixis and UBS AG, said the people.
