Peru Stocks: Candente Copper, El Brocal, Panoro, Volcan

The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 3:10 p.m. Lima time.

The Lima General Index (IGBVL) fell 0.2 percent to 22,974.79. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index (MXPECAPD) slid 0.6 percent to 2,872.55.

Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca SA (POM\C) (POMALCC1 PE), a sugar producer, fell 5.2 percent to 55 centimos. Peru’s sugarcane harvests declined 1.7 percent through January from a year earlier, the National Statistics Institute reported today.

Panoro Minerals Ltd. (PML) , a Canadian copper and gold exploration company, rose 2.6 percent to 79 cents after copper rebounded in New York, said Daniel Romero, an analyst at Lima- based investment fund NC&F Inversiones SA.

Candente Copper Corp. (DNT) , a Canadian copper exploration company, gained 1.9 percent to $1.06.

Volcan Cia. Minera SAA (VOLCAAC1) (VOLCAAC1 PE), Peru’s largest zinc and silver producer, climbed 1.8 percent to 5.20 soles after zinc futures advanced in London.

Sociedad Minera El Brocal SAA (SMBC) (BROCALC1 PE), a zinc and copper producer, rose 1 percent to 50 soles.
