Saints’ Colston Agrees to $40 Million Contract, Picayune Reports

Wide receiver Marques Colston has agreed to a five-year contract with the New Orleans Saints worth as much as $40 million, the Times-Picayune reported, citing an unidentified National Football League official.

Colston, 28, has had more than 1,000 receiving yards in five of his six seasons with the Saints. He would have become a free agent at the start of the new league year later today.

Colston had 80 catches for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns over 14 games last season. Colston’s contract is worth between $35 million and $40 million, and includes between $18 million and $19 million in guaranteed money, according to the Times- Picayune of New Orleans.
