China’s Copper Stockpiling Is ‘Like It’s 1H09,’ Goldman Says

China’s copper stockpiling in January and February was the most since 2009, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) said.

That’s expected to end on higher Chinese demand and lower availability outside of China, Max Layton, an analyst at the bank, said in a report dated today. Europe recently ended destocking, he said.
