Ukraine, AEG May Agree Gas Pipeline Upgrade, Kommersant Says

March 12, 2012

Ukraine’s Energy and Coal Ministry held talks last month with Germany’s AEG Industrial Engineering, Deutsche Bank AG (DBK) and another unidentified German bank on upgrading the country’s gas pipelines, Kommersant-Ukraine newspaper reported, citing a person with the knowledge of the matter at Ukraine’s state-owned energy company NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy.

Deutsche Bank and the other bank said they may provide Naftogaz with a 400 million euro ($524 million) loan to upgrade pumping stations if AEG gets the contract, Kiev-based Kommersant reported.
