Sanko Seeks to Delay Ship-Hire Payments to Knightsbridge Tankers

Sanko Steamship Co. (9112), a Japanese operator of commodity carriers that’s restructuring to meet financial obligations, asked to delay payments to Knightsbridge Tankers Ltd. (VLCCF)

The Capesize vessel Battersea is chartered to Sanko for $39,500 a day through June 2014, Knightsbridge said in a statement today. The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company has received full payment until March 10 and part payment for the next 15 days, it said.
