Mexico Stocks: Cemex, Grupo Modelo, Homex, Ica Are Active

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 11:21 a.m. local time.

The IPC index fell 0.4 percent to 37,556.27.

Construction-related companies led Mexican stocks lower after China posted the biggest trade deficit last month in at least 22 years and the weakest January-February factory- production gain since 2009.

Cemex SAB (CEMEXCPO), the largest cement maker in the Americas, fell 1.9 percent to 9.93 pesos. Desarrolladora Homex SAB (HOMEX*) , Mexico’s largest homebuilder, fell 1.4 percent to 39.30 pesos. Empresas Ica SAB (ICA*) , the country’s biggest construction company, slipped 1.9 percent to 22.68 pesos.

Defensive beverage companies were among the country’s biggest gainers.

Grupo Modelo SAB (GMODELOC MM), Mexico’s largest beer maker, rose 2.1 percent to 88.45 pesos. Coca-Cola Femsa (KOF) SAB, Latin America’s largest Coca-Cola bottler, rose 1.1 percent to 129.61 pesos.
