Rio Tinto in Talks With Mozambique Over Environmental Concerns

Rio Tinto Group (RIO) said it continues to talk with the Mozambique government over any concerns about the mining company’s initial environmental and social impact assessment.

Rio Tinto commented in an e-mailed statement today after the O Pais newspaper reported that Mozambique’s government rejected Rio’s proposal to transport “low-cost” coal along the Zambezi River.
