Colombia Stock Movers: Grupo Sura, Avianca Taca Holding Gain

The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4 p.m. local time.

The IGBC Index (IGBC) rose 0.4 percent to 15,040.23, while the Colcap Index (COLCAP) was little changed at 1,724.62.

Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA (GRUPOSUR CB), the parent company of Colombia’s largest bank, rose 0.3 percent to 31,480 pesos. The Medellin-based holding company said in a filing yesterday that level 1 American depositary receipts for its preferred, non-voting shares would start trading today.

Avianca Taca Holding SA (PFAVTA) (PFAVTA CB), the owner of Colombia’s largest airline, rose for a second day, climbing 2.7 percent to 4,250 pesos. The company yesterday said in a filing that 2011 profit increased 221 percent from a year ago to 202 billion pesos.
