Namibia’s Trade Minister Hage Geingob said conditions proposed by the country’s antitrust body on Walmart Stores Inc.’s purchase of Massmart Holdings Ltd. (MSM) should be imposed.
Geingod spoke today in Windhoek, the capital.
The southern African nation’s High Court ruled in November the minister should review the matter after the Competition Commission approved the deal with conditions in February last year. Walmart opposed the conditions, which included using local suppliers and no job losses.
