Venezuela’s Chavez Proposes Masisa Pine Wood Joint Venture

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez proposed creating a joint venture with Chilean forestry and wood panel company Masisa SA to boost the production of pine in the South American country.

Chavez, speaking in his first televised appearance since cancer surgery on Feb. 26, said he issued an order to engage in talks with Masisa.
