Robin van Persie’s second goal of the game in stoppage time gave Arsenal a 2-1 win over Liverpool in English soccer’s Premier League.
Van Persie scored in each half as Arsenal handed Liverpool its first home loss of the season. The Dutchman leads the league with 25 goals and has 31 total for the season.
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny saved Dirk Kuyt’s penalty kick in the first half, while Laurent Koscielny’s own goal accounted for the Liverpool score.
The victory moves Arsenal three points ahead of Chelsea in the race for fourth place and the final spot in the Champions League.
