Ukraine’s Coal Production Rose 23% in Two Months, Ministry Says

Ukraine’s coal production in the first two months of 2012 rose 23 percent compared with a year earlier to 14 million metric tons, the country’s Energy and Coal Ministry said, without providing a reason for the increase.

Output rose to 6.85 million tons in February from 5.57 million tons a month earlier, the Kiev-based ministry said today in an e-mailed statement.
