Thailand Stock Movers: Asian Marine, Ch. Karnchang, Sino-Thai

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 4:30 p.m. close in Bangkok.

The SET Index (SET) rose 0.17 point to 1,165.15, the highest close since July 1996. The gauge gained 1.7 percent this week, its ninth weekly advance and the longest winning streak since June 2009.

Asian Marine Services Pcl (ASIMAR) , a shipbuilder, jumped 7.2 percent to 1.80 baht, for the largest increase since Dec. 7. The company will pay a dividend of 0.15 baht a share, its first payout since 2009.

Ch. Karnchang Pcl (CK) , a construction company, gained 2 percent to 7.80 baht, the highest close since Jan. 18. The company got a 673.9 million baht ($22.1 million) contract to build a flood-prevention system for an industrial estate in Ayutthaya province, it said in a regulatory filing.

Sino-Thai Engineering & Construction Pcl (STEC) , the nation’s largest construction company by market value, climbed 2.2 percent to 13.80 baht, the largest increase since Feb. 10. The company will pay a dividend of 0.55 baht a share, compared with 0.22 baht a year earlier.
