Spain Agrees to Extradite Egyptian Businessman Salem, MENA Says

March 02, 2012

Spain agreed to extradite Egyptian businessman Hussein Salem and his son, Egypt’s state-owned Middle East News Agency reported today, citing the country’s foreign ministry.

Salem was sentenced in absentia to seven years in prison in a corruption-related case, while an Egyptian judicial committee found documents showing that his two children have more than 24 billion Egyptian pounds ($4 billion) of assets in several countries, MENA reported in October.
