Russia’s output of poultry and its byproducts increased about 17 percent to 262,000 metric tons in January compared with a year earlier, the Federal State Statistics Service said.
Pork production increased 14 percent to 61,600 tons and beef output fell 3.2 percent to 12,100 tons in January compared with a year earlier, the service, known as Rosstat, said today in an e-mailed statement. Production of all meats and byproducts, excluding poultry, gained 6.9 percent to 87,800 tons, it said.
Russia’s output of cattle and poultry in so-called live weight, which includes meat, bones and byproducts, increased 11 percent to 545,300 tons, Rosstat said.
